Our Story

Established in Monsey, New York, Legadel began with a vision to provide a nurturing environment for children with diverse special needs. Over time, that vision grew into a comprehensive program that goes well and beyond. Today, Legadel is not only a dedicated special education school, but also a center for specialized therapeutic services and family support. We offer behavioral health services, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and more – all geared toward helping children overcome challenges and thrive.

Our journey started with just a handful of Children and a passionate idea. As we’ve grown, one thing remains constant: our commitment to each child’s personal and academic growth. We take pride in seeing our kiddos develop confidence, master new skills, and smile with pride at their achievements. Every success – big or small – fuels our dedication to continue serving our community’s children and families.

Meet Our Team

The Legadel team is a family of dedicated professionals who share a common passion for helping children with special needs. Our staff includes experienced special educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, behavior specialists (including ABA therapists), counselors, and family advocates. Each team member brings a unique expertise and a compassionate touch to their work.

What truly sets our team apart is our collaborative spirit. Teachers, therapists, and support staff work hand-in-hand – and in close partnership with parents – to create a unified support system for every child. We celebrate progress as a team and tackle challenges together. With warmth, patience, and professionalism, our staff ensures that every family feels heard and every student feels valued. When you join Legadel, you’re not just enrolling in a program – you’re joining a community of caring experts devoted to your child’s success.

Community Engagement

Legadel is proud to actively engage with our local community to raise awareness and advocate for children with special needs. We organize and participate in community events, workshops, and outreach programs to build a broader network of support for our families. By collaborating with area schools, community leaders, and organizations, we strive to create an inclusive environment beyond our campus – one where every child is understood and supported.

Our community engagement initiatives include parent education nights, open-house events, and awareness campaigns that invite the public to learn about our mission. We believe that through outreach and advocacy, we can foster greater understanding and acceptance. At Legadel, community is family – and we extend an open invitation to neighbors and stakeholders to join us in empowering children and educating others about the importance of early intervention and inclusive education.
